Reachout with SSG children

Infant Jesus youth as part of their social consciousness programme organised a reach out programme for the poor children of the Social Service Guild (SSG) an NGO working for the marginalised poor in and around Thambuchetty palaya, K.R. Puram, Bangalore.

On the 7th of November 2010 the SSG requested the IJY to be the judeges for the competitions conducted for the children in order of the children's day celebrations. IJY willingly accepted and nearly 23 of us from the IJY participated.

It was a well organised programme with nearly 700 children participated from 9 villages animated by the SSG. As soon as we reached we had a session animated by Fr. Gilbert Choondal S.D.B. on the topic "7 habits of highly effective Catholic Youth" it was a well prepared, animated and inspiring session. Then Bro. James Paul S.D.B gave as an introduction about the works of SSG. then in the afternoon we had the judging of the competitions done by 6 of us. after which we had the price distribution. In order to appreciate the work done by the SSG we too did a contribution for their work. It was indeed a nice day.
